MedBed was founded in 2005 by Ryan McIntyre, who proudly wears the title of Scrub Shuffler. This unique type of temporary housing started when we received a request from a Vascular Surgeon in Spain for a month-long stay. Ryan, who lived in the Fillmore building at the time, took the doctor on as a flat-mate, and MedBed began.

MedBed operates a total of 17 apartments in 4 cities currently and we are adding Baltimore shortly. We have always been driven to provide affordable accomodations for medical students and doctors doing rotations and fellowships. Most of our success has been a direct result of tenant feedback and tenant referrals. If there is something that would make our housing better, please let us know.

The life of an M3 or M4 is busy enough. You shouldn't have to worry about your housing situation in multiple cities. That is what we are here for. Being in our 4th year of providing short term housing almost exclusively for medical students has taught us most of what we need to know about what a medical student's life is like. We truly strive to make it easier.

Today, MedBed has had tenants from 6 continents and over 20 countries. We see approximately 200 tenants per year currently in New York and Chicago alone. Based on our client requests, we will be expanding to other cities in the coming years. We look forward to seeing you soon at one of our apartments!
